BEE Scholarships 2nd Annual Bowling Tournament a Huge Success

Albuquerque, NM May 17, 2016:  The pins were lined up and participants in BEE Scholarships 2nd Annual Bowling Tournament knocked them down in what turned out to be a very successful event for BEE.

Team Ebowla came out of the tournament as the new team champions, while the tournament also produced a new female scoring champ and last year’s male individual bowling champ was the only repeat winner from last year’s tournament.

The tournament followed BEE Scholarships’ announcement of four scholarship recipients, which included students from Atrisco Heritage Academy, Nuestros Valores Charter High School, and Rio Rancho High School.

Raymond Gurule, whom attended the bowling tournament, said, “It was a blast. The bowling tournament is a great event for a good cause. It felt good to give back and help young students further their education.”  Juan Romero, part of the winning team Ebowla, echoed Gurule, saying, “it felt good to give back to the community.”

This year’s event took place at Isleta Resort & Casino’s Fun Connection for the first time. BEE Scholarships thanks the staff at the Fun Connection for making the event run smoothly. BEE Scholarships would also like to thank businesses that sponsored prizes for the bowling tournament. A BIG THANK YOU to Albuquerque - Admiral Beverage Corporation, Olive Garden, Macs La Sierra, Green Joe Coffee Company, The Beauty Shop: A Boutique Salon, Pop Fizz, and Wonderland Hair Studio. Without the generous donations by these sponsors, the bowling tournament would not have been such a success.

BEE Scholarships wants to give a heartfelt thank you to all of those that attended the bowling tournament and to everyone that has supported BEE through its second year as a non-profit organization. We ask that you continue to follow us as we continue our efforts to provide scholarships for Albuquerque-area students and assist them in their pursuit of higher education.
