Burqueños for Education and Empowerment (BEE) Scholarships Receives Great Turnout at Two Fundraising Events

Kelly Jo Designs by Wine and B2B Burgers Events Were a Huge Success! 

Albuquerque, NM, October 20, 2016: Beautiful portraits were created and burgers were devoured in what turned out to be a very successful one-month period of fundraising for Burqueños for Education and Empowerment (BEE) Scholarships as we partnered with both Kelly Jo Designs by Wine in late September and Bistronomy B2B: Burgers 2 Beers in early October to raise money for BEE’s third year of scholarships.

The Designs by Wine event held in late September was so successful that extra seats had to be added prior to the event. “It was great to see such a large amount of people turn out for this event. People had requested we do a Designs by Wine event again and the turnout highlighted its popularity,” said BEE’s President Matthew Salas. 

It was an equally great turnout for B2B, as the event coincided with the Balloon Fiesta, which generated a lot of traffic through the restaurant. Both events had great turnouts and community support grew larger this year as BEE prepares to issue its third round of academic scholarships.

Coming in the next couple of months, BEE will make announcements for this year’s scholarship application. BEE is excited to provide scholarships to students for a third year and is eager to see this year’s turnout exceed previous years.

Burqueños for Education and Empowerment (BEE) Scholarships Ready to Begin Another Year of Fundraising Events

BEE Scholarships to Partner with Kelly Jo Designs by Wine and B2B Burger

Albuquerque, NM August 5, 2016: Burqueños for Education and Empowerment (BEE) is excited to announce it will once again be partnering with both Kelly Jo Designs by Wine in September and Bistronomy B2B: Burgers 2 Beers in October in an effort to raise money for BEE’s third year of scholarships.

BEE’s Kelly Jo Designs by Wine event will take place at 6:30pm on Tuesday, September 13th. Participants are asked to register online, by visiting their registration link or by calling to reserve a spot at 505-934-0665. The last time BEE partnered with Kelly Jo Designs by Wine, the event filled up and closed very quickly. The painting class holds a maximum of 50 participants, so people are encouraged to register early. 

“The last event we had with them was such a huge success that people were asking us to put another together,” says BEE’s President Matthew Salas. “Well here we are. BEE and all its supporters are eager for this event.” BEE Scholarships will receive 25% of proceeds, including alcohol sales, from the event. As usual, 100% of the proceeds will be used for BEE Scholarships Fund efforts.

On Sunday, October 2nd, BEE will also be partnering with B2B, a hearty, local hamburger restaurant, as part of their Giving Back Sunday’s program. BEE Scholarships will receive 20% of food sales for the entire day. This will be the second time BEE Scholarships partners with B2B and we are excited for this event, as last years’ event was a huge success. “We saw people from all over Albuquerque come in and support us. It was a great way for BEE to interact and speak with the community. Many people expressed their happiness with what BEE was doing,” says BEE’s President Matthew Salas. The event will take place all day, from 12-9pm on Sunday, October 2nd.
